My name is lina and i recently travelled to italy with my elderly father who has cancer. He is 87 years old and was born in naples, his wish was to return to his homeland before his passing. Whilst in san martino i found a dog that had been tied up with a chain and a tight collar and left in isolation for 4 years. His name is ted abd he is a big dog of mixed breed. The family who had him tied up adopted him as a small 4 week old puppy. They say they didnt expect him to grow so big, so at 4 months old they tied him outside. I called a refuge in italy and they agreed to take him. I also spoke to the owners of ted and they agreed to surrender him. I thought i was doing a good deed by this dog, but it turns out that the refuge is in terrible condition, and they are keeping ted locked up in a dark garage with no light and no widows - Completely enclosed. The refuge lady is saying it is because he is aggressive, but this is a lie because i spent 2 weeks with ted walking him twice a day for an hour to 90 mins each time. I also played games with him and he acts like a big goofy puppy. My thoughts are that the refuge were perhaps hoping to take advantage of the situation and make some money - I do not know, but they are being very nasty. I have reached out to 10 people i know in italy to see if i can generate some assistance for ted to go to a temporary home so that he can start becoming familiar with a family environment. Until; then i need a safe haven for ted. Somewhere that will encourage ted to develop a healthy sense of trust of his environment. Ted needs good quality accommodation and some trai8ning that will assist him to blossom into the lovely dog that god made him to be. Are you able to assist with training and boarding accommodation until a temporary (or permanent) home is found. If you are able to assist, please provide details of prices and what is included in the fees. If you are unable to assist, do you know anyone who can. This has become an urgent matter as the refuge owner is getting nasty and threatening to get rid of ted. Ted is currently in a dark garage in paternopoli. Thank you for your time
